Superhero Films: Today and Tomorrow

Image
Picture by  www.forbes.com The Captain America Civil War film is due out next week, it's the main reason for this weeks superhero connection, no review just a rant. With that being said, lets talk about what to expect because the superhero craze is here, and it will not go away. Bad movies, and good movies are made no matter how they do in the box office. The hero film craze is established an there is nothing you could do about it, because in the end, films are films and even if the really bad ones tank, the studios will continue to make films in order to get that prime film franchise, but at what cost. Imagine a month without hero films, it will come, i will explain later, but in order to understand things more, read on. Rant: what is a superhero film? That is a good question, but one not easily answered. The typical answer is a person that risks his life in an act of heroism. Super is the abilities of that hero, and it also depends on the use. The main thing is to remember

Self/Less (2015)

Picture by  www.cnbc.com The science and technology behind film is what i call movie science. Using science and expanding reality into something else, for purposes of the story. Films like to use science for a complete measure of the story, take the film the Matrix. What if the real world exists, our lives would be a complete mess, but the surprise here is the fake, made up world that we know as reality is the better one. The buildings, cars, diners, everything that is made up into reality, is real to the naked eye but, an unseen world hides, and reality bends and twists, movie magic. The problem here is when filming these types of films, the audience has you at hello, but the reality is simple, to much of it can make your cool, awesome world into a box office flop. The Matrix was a great film, but the follow ups needed a lot of work, and i don't mean the special effects. The story went from being amazing to OK, then the trilogy fell short. The science used fell short, it'

Sinister 2

picture by  www.best-horror-movies.com Opening Sequence: The main reason why i'm reviewing Sinister 2 is for one reason, i love horror movies. As much as i would like to review Jungle Book i decided in an older movie. Years ago i had reviewed the first film, Sinister. Ethan Hawke was the main protagonist, the film was so good it impressed me, it's suspense level was really good. The way it held it's own, it truly is among the classics, and that's just my opinion, because to me the first Sinister really made some horror movie achievements. Let me go over them with you, it's important that you know those little things that make a great horror film, so here we go. Remember when Ellison Oswalt found the box of super 8 film; Imagine you being in that scene. the suspense, a moment in time, your heart wants to jump out of your chest, which it did by the way. The second one is even more scary, which by the way i really don't want to get into it, because movies have

Picture by  www.vox.hu Opening: Critics love to have the cast and director before their reviews, but for me not anymore. I will mention the cast if it's important to the review, or character mention. Anyway from now on my reviews will be hard, and to the point, no more typical outline. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is a good example of what the audience likes vs the critics. The critics buried the film, but i did not, i saw it for what it is, an entertaining film that should've had better reviews.  Anyway when it comes to reviewing a film i will hit the details pretty hard. Not going to hold back either, if the movie sucks, then i will nail it to the wall of  shame. The formula for this website will be turned around, no more beating around the bush, it will be done, period. The critics will sugar coat movies, i wont, the Reeltime Movie Review is dedicated to all audiences around the globe. Will not be afraid of pointing out an issue that i believe is important to a f
