The complete list of all the relationships, not trying to go into any spoilers but the main point of the film is "Does God exists " and what happens to people in many different relationships and how they deal with them without God or with .
The critics gave this film a low average because of the arguments and the acting, and then some.  The acting was good , not over the top or terrible.  Bring in Faith and the Christain belief that God created the universe into a film that's 113 min long and most critics had and issue with that.
the stories in the movie were done well, even the points that Josh brought up to prove that God exists. If you want a series of answers than check out a documentary, this isn't the point of the film and the critics view of the validity of the facts that Josh brought to table is wrong.  Free-Will, the very choice that makes us who we are, the fact that we humans choose the wrong path from time to time, makes us human.  Science isn't wrong just not perfect. The films essence and the way it involved people and experiences makes this film good. Go see it or buy it when you have the chance , an overall joy, well executed film.
