That's My Boy

That's My Boy (2012) starring Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg.  70 million dollar budget, making only 57.7 million world wide. This Film is written by David Caspe. Directed by Sean Anders and produced by Adam Sandler, Allen Covet , Jack Giarraputo, And Heather Parry.  Adam Sandler (Donny), Andy Samberg(Todd), Leighton Meester (Jamie), Vanilla Ice( Himself), James Cann (Father McNally), Milo Ventimiglia (Chad), Tony Orlando (Steve Spirou), Will Forte (Phil), special appearances by Susan Sarandon as the older Mary McGarricle. Todd Bridges ( Himself), Dan Patrick (Randall Morgan).  A large cast in a movie about a young boy Donny ( Sandler ) trying to be the big man in the 8th grade , a very much older teacher Mary McGarricle ( Eva Amurri Martino) has a fling and ends up 30 years in Prison. Donny ( Adam Sandler) is in dire need for money, he hasn't paid taxes since 1989.  43,000 is owed or suffer long term Prison sentence. His son is a Hedge Fund investor, Todd Peterson ( Andy Samberg) is to be married to the lovely Jamie ( Leighton Meester).  This out of control movie has it's ups and downs; the soundtrack plays well with the movie, that's if your into MeatLoaf and Van Halen.  Sandler has an 80s musical score that hits it's mark for this Film; that's the only up! The downs of the Film is simply the comedy.  More twisted, out-of-the ball park scenes, but were not funny. I could understand if the scenes were at least funny, but fell short of the comedy which it very much needed.  Adam Sandler is over the top and not as funny as he could've been.  Check out the Wedding Singer for a great laughable, well written Film.
