Alex Mathis (Greg Grunberg) the exterminator, was in a customer's house, doing what he knows best, but this customer is a happy older lady, sometimes to happy.  Mrs. Jefferson (Lin Shaye), always calls Alex on rodent situations that she may have, unfortunately Alex is very tired, and his extermination skills are a bit lacking, do to Mrs. Jefferson very early call, even after his catch she avoids payment by telling Alex about her social security check, and on top of that he gets a desert from her each time he's here.

Mrs. Jefferson notices a nasty bite, Alex knows this bite, a brown recluse, a spider that will destroy the skin, if not cared for.  The little bugger, got past the exterminator, but no worries, Alex will drive himself to the Hospital.

Waiting in the Hospital emergency room lobby, Alex the exterminator manages to flirt with the Hospital nurse, but his advancements aren't taken lightly, she examines him, notices the bite, but Alex interrupts with a few comments like "The bite came from a brown recluse," he continues, and tells her about the medication; she tells him to consult with the doctor, or she will so that he will be given the shots.

Somewhere in the Hospital, a mortician notices something strange, movement in the body bag, a fresh body came in this morning, what can be moving, inside there.  The mortician goes back to his paperwork, it needs to get done before he leaves for the evening.  Again, he notices movement, unzips the body bag, realizes nothing is there, and smiles for being a bit scared.  He turns around and suddenly an eight legged spider,  jumped at him and bit into him, followed by a scream, he runs to the fire alarm, and pulls it.

An alarm goes off, someone has pulled the fire-alarm, the scared mortician comes out to meet with the Hospital Director (Bob Bledsoe).  The right side of his neck is full of blood, he is distressed, tells the Director what happened, all hell breaks loose, Alex happened to overhear the situation, the exterminator and Jose Ramos (Lombardo Boyar) who works for the Hospital security, he volunteered to help Alex. The exterminator can destroy the spider, or so they both think they can,  Jose will have to guide Alex in the ventilation shaft, he would have to position himself accordingly in order to catch, kill the spider, but unknown to them the spider has killed it's next victim, a patient sleeping silently, it's kill increased it to another stage in growth.

Suddenly military personal storm inside the Hospital, they're  persistent, determined to do whatever it takes to contain the spider before it reaches another stage.  Major Braxton Tanner (Ray Wise), Lieutenant Karly Brant (Clare Kramer), and there expert on the situation, Lucas (Patrick Bauchau).  The Major orders a full quarantine of the Hospital.

Let me start by saying this film is by far a B-movie, but to be fair it's not your common one, it has a plot, acting was pretty good.  Stars like Ray Wise, Greg Grunberg, Lombardo Boyar, and Patrick Bauchau.  The four main actors in this film did well, not the best, but enough for fun and laughter.  The good lieutenant Karly Brant (Clare Kramer) tried to hard, her acting kinda sucked, but again, trying very hard not to attack this film, it was pretty good for what it was.

Out of all the three films i reviewed in " My really bad movie review," this one believe me came to me at a glance, not just the cover, but the reviews, on the cover.  "What a title," not only did i pick the movie on the cheesy title but, the way the main characters was printed on the cover, it was cool, it was that moment that i decided to choose this film.  Check out the cool explosion in the background, and the black widow spider on top of the building, that's what attracted me to this little film.

Alex (Greg Grunberg), Lombardo Boyar (Jose Ramos), these guys were funny and amusing in the film, the composition between each other was done well.  Alex the exterminator that thinks he knows everything that comes his way.  Jose the security guard with a gun in the Hospital, not only was this guy funny, but he was cool.  The image the actors portrayed was done well, there ability to connect with each other was really good.  Alex and Jose are a force to me reckoned with, these guys are a good team, not just in the film be but the way they acted, they're presence made the film very good in a B-movie way.

The special effects were good, not the best, but for B-movie standards, it was smooth enough to enjoy, i wanted the movie to go on, i wasn't repulsed by the campy special effects, they were good enough for the story. Remember what i had mentioned before, it's not the effects, or the film, it doesn't even matter if it's a B-movie, the connection the actors had is the first, and most important factor to filming, without it the film will fail in every way.

P.S. "I hope you've enjoyed my reviews, it's not as easy as one thinks; reviews are here for one reason, to let the fan, and viewer know what the film is about, and remember it's all opinion, so thank you very much for your continued support, oh and check out Big Ass Spider."
