The next phase to the MCU set up is here. Although sometimes the MCU set-up isn't what we might expect, but with that being said Marvel does a really good job with Easter eggs throughout the film, and within. The only real problem here is us, finding the time to take apart the film and tell the audience the whole breakdown on what's to come. Because whats coming is bigger than Marvel has ever done. The only question here is the infinity stones, and the connections to all those other Marvel films. Starting with Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-man Homecoming, and Thor Ragnarok leading to the Infinity War films. Mark my words, don't knoow anything really because the MCU does it's own thing, but as for the big man, Thanos. No worries here because he will touch down, and when he comes the Earth and everything will fall. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it is Thanos.
Personally i did read the Infinity Gauntlet six part mini series. Written by Jim Starlin with artist that back in the day amazed us. It was December of 1991, my graduation year, oh i really need to stay on track. Anyway the comic was released. The creative team of Jim Starlin at the writing helm, and George Perez, Ron Lim as artists. The story became a hit, and it was kinda creepy as well. the story was Thanos and his quest to find the infinity gems, together placed in the Gauntlet where it will give the user mastery over the multiverse. Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Reality, and power. The whole gem, stone thing is kinda cool; But what is Marvel or what are they going to do when Thanos acquires all six stones. I mean it will not be easy, it will need Dr. strange and everyone else to defeat the big bad guy, Thanos. Either way the film will be split into two parts, which means afterwards the MCU will be ripped apart or something else. Something huge is going to happen, not giving away spoilers until you read on. Guardians, that whole multiverse is my favorite Marvel comics. Lets get up and going, because the team has arrived on the Reeltime Movie Review...

Review:
Missouri 1980, Meredith Quill (Laura Haddock) and Ego go to a remote part of a forest. He tells her about the seed, that was carefully planted into the ground. The seed emits some light. As Ego (Kurt Russell) continues to explain the scene fades to black.
34 years later sometime in 2014; Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and the Guardians of the Galaxy have made a name for themselves. Thanks to the badly beaten Ronan the Accuser, the team takes a new job from the Priestess Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) the gold skinned alien. They are called the Sovereign. The mission is to defend the batteries which are of great importance to the Sovereign, against the vial creature called the Abilisk. If the creature is destroyed then Nebula (Karen Gillan) will be returned to the Guardians.
"So, you are going to put your turd in my bed?" -Peter Quill
"No, I'm going to put Drax's turd in your bed." -Rocket-
"Haha!, Yes! Because my turds are famously large." -Drax-
The creature is large, eight arms, razor sharp teeth; The eyes are on both sides of it's face. The creature attacks the group, each arm swinging, hoping to hurt the Guardians. Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Drax (Dave Bautista) fight for their lives against the large creature; Groot (Vin Diesel) plays the music from the boom box, and starts to dance away. meanwhile the others are being thrown around. (While the music "Mr. Blue Sky," from Electric Light Orchestra, written by Jeff Lynne; Continues to play, so does the Groot). He dances as the members from his crew are thrown into his direction, but always somehow, by luck missing the little guy.
To me this film is funny, exciting, cute, the Groot parts are really good, and it's one of the main reasons this film is kicking some butt is because of, yes you guessed it, the connection between characters. Nebula to Gamora, Drax to just about everybody. Rocket and Peter Quill. Groot the cute little bitty tree guy. The main reason for these guys constantly arguing is really an easy assessment. Guardians of the Galaxy aren't really a good team. especially hiring them, they end up almost always deviating from plans. The heroes are idiots, from every turn these guys get themselves into a huge debacle. Those little problems become bigger ones thanks to James Gunn, the writer and director of the film. he really hit the mark, it was all that and more.
"You're like Mary Poppins." -Peter Quill-
"Was he cool?" -Yondu-
"Damn right he was cool." -Peter Quill-
"I'm Mary Popins, y'all!" -Yondu-
The very essence of the film is family. The main theme that grasped you, it was like breathing fresh air for the very first time. Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klemmentieff) did one hell of a job in the film, she was amazing. The gal knows what she is doing, her part was so cleverly done. I especially love when Mantis tries to warn Drax abut the danger to come. You know the one's about Ego (Kurt Russell), where she tries to warn him but as she continues, Gamora (Zoe Saldana) iterrupts Drax. The acting was good because you actually feared for the poor thing, Mantis that is. Her character was gentle but very much needed.
This time around the Guardians Vol 2 had the coolest big bad. Ego was amazing, he was intriguing to the point that you either wanted too know more about him. The whole celestial thing was a really good, it was different, which made Ego a very good antagonist. He had controlled the situation all from the beginning. The cool hero of mine, Kurt Russell turned to be a big bad. Wow! love Hollywood for this one.
Special effects in the film were good, they did not retract. The actors did more than i expected because they acted with in the script guidelines. Yes everything has a guideline, if not then the film will be hideous. It was beautiful, Ego's world, at first it was something to look upon, but as you moved from one part of the story to another you get the ugliness as well. The planet was beautiful, but when it changed to dark, desolate place. The effects were running with the story, not without it. they were ahead of the game, and to me having effects are great but they need to stay with in the parameters, and in the case for Guardians of the galaxy, it was made.
Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone was perfect for the parts that Gunn gave them. Ego (Kurt Russell) the father of Peter Quill, who is one bad dude. Sylvester Stallone as Staker Ogord was probably the best pic for this movie. They may not be on the up-tick on the whole acting thing, but for this film, these guys did what they had to do, and when they came up on screen, they shined. These actors were my heroes in films like, The Thing (1982), Stargate (1994), Rocky (1976), Rambo: First Blood (1982). The main point here is that these guys are really good actors, and action heroes. They're the Cop, Speedster, Marksman, legends. These guys know how to make movies, at least to me they do. Huge thanks to James Gunn for making Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, epic in every proportion. This time around you took the source material and zoomed with it. The movie is a real treat, go and see it.
