The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Directed by Marc Webb, written by Alex Kurtzman, Robert Orci, story by Jeff Pinker and James Vanderbilt.  Based on the Marvel Comics Character Spider-Man, Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
Starring Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man/ Peter Parker), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Jamie Fox (Electro/Max Dillion), Dane DeHaan(Harry Osborn/ Green Goblin), Cambell Scott (Richard Parker), Paul Giamatti ( Aleksei Sytsevich /Rhino), and Sally Field (Aunt May).
The opening scene we have our friendly neiborhood Spider-Man (Garfield) chasing from the buildings above, with the trusty help of his web, slinging from one building to another.  Bouncing, flipping, using anything to propell him to the deranged Aleksei Sytsevich (Paul Giamatti).  A truck filled with a highly explosive substance, plutonium.  Dancing , acrobatics, and impressive special effects, Spider-Man saves the day and takes care of the Russian goons.
(The actual opening scene) Richard Parker filming a Video Webcam message.  Shrouded in mystery, his message is disturbed by young Peter Parker calling his father from the background. Richard Parker (Campbell Scott) leaves his son to Aunt May (Sally Field), a computer upload and a struggle on a jet.
Peter Parker (Garfield) almost late for his  own graduation, crime fighting has always taken a bit of a tole on this slinger.
Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) gives her speech which reminds every student that the future is the main focus, and strength comes from ones self.  (A good scene with Emma Stone giving her speech, a wonderful opening)
Since this film has three plot lines I'll try to make this review short.
  1) Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker
  2) mystery about his Father
  3) Harry Osborn / Max Dillion/ Green Goblin
Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) has always found away to balance her relationship by supporting Peter in anyway possible, even if it means her life being in danger.  The on film presence of her character is done well. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have a good connection , sometimes Directors have a great deal of trouble with there actors, because connection is believable, and that is key while shooting two people in love.
  2) Mysterious files, an upload, an Oscorp Secret that only the head of the board knew.  Special projects division at Ravencroft.  Peter discovers a subterranean lab car that roars to life; all his life's work is here.  Norman Osborn wanted to research biological weapons, but Richard Parker did not want his research to be used in that way.
  3) Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) needs the blood of a spider in order to survive. The blood work that was transfixed onto a spider could only be used by someone of his own DNA.  Richard Parker had created a Fail safe.  Desperate Harry still injected himself with the DNA, which created a chain reaction and the Green Goblin was born.
Max Dillion/Electro (Jamie Fox), falls into a tank of electric eels.  Max Dillion a nobody at Oscorp, an intelligent man but not very outgoing.  His life changed when Max had an experience with Spider-Man (Garfield), he was noticed and saved by the Hero.  An emotional experience mixed with his transformation, created Electro.
These plot points are mixed in well, the story flows and the characters have drama which makes them more than a comic hero.  The musical score really drove the movie forward, it never drowned the action or the scenes that were pertinate to the story.
Spider-Man 2 does well with all the villains and plots , three that they throw at you while the story moves.  Three villains are not my cup of tea but this time no problems came about.  The story flowed, opening with the mystery.  Peter and Gwen , the mix with Harry and Oscorp, and let's not forget Max Dillion ( Jamie Fox).  A very enjoyable villain with problems which gives him a higher rank on my villain chart.  Loved Jamie Fox as Electro, he hit his mark.  The scenes with Spider-Man and Electro were classic.
The Amazing Spider-Man series to me is much better than those other ones done so long ago.  Garfield is great as Spidey and Emma Stone is wonderful as Gwen Stacy. This Film as a whole is good, that being said, thank you Marc Webb for giving us a great story and real enjoyment that makes fans want more.
